It was easier to focus on kissing him right now rather than how fucking amazing this felt -- especially given all that buildup, and all these feelings, and how Annie caught sight of her ring as she slid her hand to Diego's shoulder and just seeing it sent a tingle through her. That was all a lot -- like, an overwhelming, if-she-focused-too-hard-she-might-actually-come-immediately lot -- but kissing Diego was helping.
It did not stop her from making some pathetic whimpering noises into the kiss, but hey. Couldn't win them all.
