So, Annie was doing this Christmas party next Friday. And, really, regardless of the party, she had been tasked with ensuring Diego got the whole Christmas experience, this year.

And a vital part of the Christmas experience? Wearing weird, tacky, semi-humiliating holiday-themed clothes.

So, she'd invited Diego over and had managed to make hot chocolate without burning her apartment down, and was now lounging next to him on her couch with her laptop positioned on her legs. 

"How about this one?"

Did it matter that it was still two days before Thanksgiving? No, and stop judging her.

"Sounds like a challenge," he joked, lightly running his fingers down her arm. "Seriously, it doesn't bother me. Nothing about your powers does."

"You have no idea how great that is to hear," Annie sighed, twining her foot along his leg. She wasn't going to get into, like, tales of boyfriends past here, but seriously. Reassuring. "Though I think you've seen everything I can do, now."

Most people didn't get to see her eyes light up under those particular circumstances, of course.

"And you've seen everything I can do." Well. For right now. "And you handled the whole knife thing earlier very well."

Most women would probably be weirded out to see a guy with knives strapped to his chest during a hot cocoa date.

"I mean, I was not expecting the knives, but I probably should've," Annie admitted with a little smile. "It's actually kind of really hot that you're, like, that prepared."

Although again, hot cocoa date, but it was a fair point that between Fandom and just being in the same building as Danny and Steve, literally anything could happen.

"Force of habit," he admitted, nuzzling against her neck. "So we're definitely doing that again, right?"

Give him a quick nap and some water and he'd be good to go.

"One shot deal, sorry," Annie said with a soft laugh, clearly not meaning a single word of it. "I actually don't have anywhere to be until, like, tomorrow night, so...."

So like she would also need a nap, and there was a real good chance she was going to sneak out and steal his shirt to wear in the interim, but yeah.

"Plenty of time then," he said, probably sounding like he wasn't far off from working on that nap thing. "Good."

He had to thoroughly make sure she'd still want to come back to him after that trip to Iowa.

Oh yeah, because she was totally in danger of forgetting all about him and running off with a farmer or something.

Annie nestled her head in against Diego's chest, stretching an arm across him. "This is nice," she sighed, sleepily. "Like, all of it, but...this part is nice."

Who could have possibly foreseen that Annie was the cuddly type?
