MCA #1 | Saturday Morning into Afternoon

On Saturday morning, bright and early - like, so, so hatefully early - Annie ventured out to make good on a stupid promise she’d made. All right, it wasn’t a stupid promise, but it was one Annie was really regretting now, because she knew how bad it had looked when she’d left. So much glitter. So many spilled shots. She herself had straight-up poured beer on the floor at least once and had to actually replace a lightbulb. Who knew what had become of the various reindeer?

Plus, she knew there were almost certainly people in there who would need carbohydrates and coffee to get through this day, just like she would. So, Annie made her way into Rey’s apartment, laid out the assortment of bagels and donuts she’d picked up and set a pot of coffee on (caf was a mystery she would ask Rey about later, but she’d noticed the coffee in the pantry before she’d broken it.) Then, she made a few trips back up to her own apartment to grab her vacuum, that glitter thing Barry had made her (bless you, Barry), a case of water bottles, and a bunch of cleaning supplies.

By the time she was done, the coffee was too, and Annie still kind of wanted to die, but at least the people waking up here would have caffeine and water and carbs at their disposal.

[for those waking up here or kindly helping to clean! please hold for just a touch of OCD and we are good, ping at will!]

Eventually, Summer would make it to where the coffee was and she was going to cling to that coffee, and try desperately to keep from looking around as clarity descended with shocking revelation as to exactly what sort of insurmountable task they had ahead of them.

It was not working.

But at least they didn't, like, have to freeze time for, like, a whole month or something just to get it done before someone's parents came home!

"Mmmmm." It was half grumble, half actual thoughtful sound, and Summer would have shaken her head, but she knew better. "I'm not covered in unidentifiable fluids and I actually know where I am, so I don't know about worst, but.."

She definitely would not argue about it.

Especially since stopping a moment to just sort of close her eyes against another swell of headache seemed to suggest it was still pretty far up there.

At least, despite all her earlier attempts at subterfuge, Summer actually would help with the clean-up? Because even if she did manage to slip away, she wouldn't have gotten very far until her conscience kicked in and she just started feeling bad about it...

"Aspirin's good," said Summer. "Yes, thank you. And bagels. Ugh! Bland ass carbs all up in this..."

But there was a faint attempt at a smile.

"We did good, though. We did damn good, An."

The -nie was apparently too much effort right now.

"Shower is a great place to throw up," Summer noted, brows lifted and clearly impressed, although should she really be?
somethingwithturquoise: (....yikes)

Summer's eyes followed Annie's to the door.

"Rey's gonna be fiiiiiine," she said firmly.

She was thinking boyfriend reasons, though. But also Jedi reasons!

"It might take some time before we can convince jer to do one of these again, though," she, who should definitely not be already thinking about doing this again, and yet there they were, added.

Summer gave Annie a look that said it was okay if she actually believed something like that, she was new to this, and she hadn't really gotten a taste of party-mode Summer until just these last few weeks.

"All I'll say," she then said, "is that maybe it was a good idea that we did do this as early as we did, so that we have just that much time to recover before New Years."
somethingwithturquoise: (brow arched grin)

"New Years is definitely a thing," said Summer, with a mildly eager grin, a little wistful, almost like she was looking forward to a morning like this all over again.

It just felt like success, okay? And it also helped that this year, she'd even have a solid bet for someone to kiss at midnight.

Pretty solid. She could screw up a lot in a month.

"We clean today," Summer suggested, "rest up tomorrow, and we'll be good by Monday."

Stark waved the hand that was currently holding a donut in Summer's direction.

"Morning."

Summer met that wave with a faint smile over a constant, dull ache of pain and a small lift of her hand back.

"Morning," she said. "How're you feeling?"

"I slept on the floor." Stark shrugged. "With a reindeer."
somethingwithturquoise: (just so happy right now)

Summer gave a soft, sympathetic smile, one that couldn't maybe fully relate, considering she'd slept on a couch with her boyfriend, which felt like, at least a step up. Even if she was pretty sure being in close proximity with that Santa suit had given her a slight rash.

"See," she said, "and I told Rey that those reindeer were a good idea."

"I'm not keeping the reindeer," Stark said quickly. He totally would, if asked. Or if it mysteriously appeared in his apartment.

Sleeping with a person instead of an inflatable deer was definitely a step up, Summer.
somethingwithturquoise: (uh well...)

"I mean," said Summer, probably misinterpreting the quickness there, "you probably could, if you wanted to? Honestly, I bet Rey would actually be really glad if you did."

You're welcome, Rey!

...sorry, Stark.
stykera: (this is upsetting)

This was because he'd suggested Kitty and Anakin be given reindeer for their children. The universe was just restoring balance.

"I...that's...she would, I'm sure."

And Summer was just going to take a moment to beam, because look at what a good friend she was!

A very short moment, because even just straightening her shoulders to preen made her head swim in a way that sent her shoulders dragging right back down again.

"Oooooooooof," she murmured. "That was...a great party."

"Are you alright?" Besides the mild alcohol poisoning, obviously.

"Was it great? That game was very odd." He should not be allowed to play that game. Or maybe he should always play that game.
somethingwithturquoise: (happy chatting)

"Oh, I'm fine," Summer said, with a wave of her hand because she knew better than to shake her head. "A little more coffee, some food in my stomach, maybe a trip to Mooby's on the way home, and a good nap and I'll be good as new."

Because she was so young and this was hardly her first stupid bender.

"And Jaye," that was her name, right? That was Jaye? She literally reported on her on radio all the time, but she wasn't a hundred percent on that, "totally was playing it wrong, so that didn't help, but it was still a pretty great maneuver that I'm sure no one is regretting today..."

"The donuts are good," he said helpfully. He'd probably eaten more than his share.

"It's not normally that odd then?" No Stark, normally people don't play that game and end by drinking on 'I never was executed.'

Summer was definitely sticking to the bagels. The idea of more sugar right now was actually slightly worse than the idea of more alcohol.

"It's one of those things," she offered, "that just really depends on who you're playing with. So, around here, it actually probably can get pretty weird."
