MHA #2 | Friday Evening and probably onwards - the SECOND ANNUAL Christmas Rager!!

You know, they'd really outdone themselves. It had hardly seemed possible, and yet, here it was: an even tackier Christmas party, somehow.

There were plastic, glowing snowmen in every corner of the apartment, along with small Christmas trees pre-strung with lights and tinsel but accompanied by little boxes of ornaments so guests could decorate themselves, should they so choose. There was an arts and crafts corner set up in the guest room, just below a yarn wall of time-travel craziness. There was music playing for the moment, but a karaoke machine set up for later, after drinking. There was a table of presents, with little, 'FOR ANYONE, LOVE SANTA' tags attached. There was a small platter of cookies in the kitchen with nearby icing and sprinkles for guests to decorate as they choose, because let's just mash all the Christmas party themes into one, okay? Let's just do it.

And there was alcohol. There was so, so much alcohol. There were several kegs (filled, of course, with Christmas ale), Annie's extremely alcoholic wassail, and every extremely moddable mixer and liquor under the sun. And, most importantly -- like, so important that they literally had a spotlight -- there was a table of Summer's jello shots.

As if that were not enough, there was snow falling indoors, thanks to a certain neighbor with an affinity for red, and a drone circling the party with a big, unmistakable sprig of mistletoe suspended from it. The Drone Mistle. Because Christmas puns.

Show off your Christmas sweater! Please be advised that if you do not have a sweater, there are moddable ones available!

Please also be advised that both Annie and Summer are armed with glitter cannons, and glittering is definitely considered an acceptable substitute for a sweater.

Wanda had been happy to help the party in any way that she could. The snow had turned out nice, but she was still keeping an eye out to make sure nothing quirky happened and the magic made it turn into a blizzard by accident.

Which would still be fun, but messy.

Of course Annie was here -- even if she didn't live here, there was no way she'd miss any party, much less the second annual Christmas rager.

She had, however, made the mistake (?) of letting Diego choose her sweater, and look, this had totally been the lesser of two embarrassments, okay? And Christmas puns. She also had a pair of reindeer antlers, jingle bell earrings, and last year's leggings, so the sweater was just of a piece, anyway.

And yes, she was armed with a glitter cannon. And maybe a touch trigger-happy.

Stark had a sweater this year. He still didn't really understand the whole ugly sweater thing but he was playing along, having gotten a little assistance (maybe a lot) in picking one out. He didn't really want to get shot by any glitter cannons.

Last year's party had been a little overwhelming. This one might be more so. "It's snowing," he said to nobody in particular. That was new!

When Summer wasn't hovering by the jello shot table to pick up on lingering praise, she was weilding a glitter gun and looking very cute, thank you, in her controversial yet bold Ugly Christmas Sweater Skirt, with adorable tights, and a nice tank top and hat to complete the whole look.

What? She had an aethetic, okay? And it was totally a throw back to last year, obviously!

Prompto had been pretty stoked about this party all week, not only because he'd come with a date (!!!), but also because the other guys trusted him to get everyone their sweaters and he thought he did an awesome job, and was pretty sure that his sweater was actually the best sweater ever, and he would probably be wearing it all winter long.

Which defeated the purpose of it being an ugly sweater, but, come on! Come on!!

He made up for it with everyone else's, don't worry!

Gladio had almost wondered if what he should have done was just start out by cutting off the sleeves to the impressively terrible sweater Prompto had chosen for him for this party, and, you know what? He still might. It almost seemed like a shame not to....

Irrelevant that he didn't know the person who lived here. He'd met Summer once! Surely that counted!

Except that it really wasn't irrelevant, given that he hadn't thought this through and was stuck outside the apartment as soon as he arrived with the camera crew, and had to knock.

Right. This whole indignity.

Where did Prompto manage to find not only the perfect sweater for Sidon to wear to this party, but also one in his size? The world may never know!

But he certainly didn't want to miss a party, even if it was indoors, and he just hoped that perhaps Annie and Diego had good sturdy furniture so he could sit for a bit to avoid having to hunch too much and to avoid being smacked in the head by that Drone Mistle that was flying around...

Amaya had been to more than enough of these parties that Summer was involved in to know it wasn't really her scene, but there was booze and sometimes even foods on sticks, and so she'd be there, even in a sweater, and very quickly narrowing in on that mistletoe that was flying around and wondering if anyone would notice if something were to unexpectedly happen to it to put it out of commission.

There went her plans for drinking a lot this evening. She definitely didn't want to let her guard down with that monstrosity flying around all night!

Sweaters...and even pants, really....weren't exactly Shunsui's thing, but far be it from him to still not find some way to work a theme into his much preferred aesthetic for kimono and robes. And he'd decorated his hat, even, with little sprigs of holly and pine and string lights, since, really, the kimono was not nearly as flashy and ostentatious as he would have liked.

He had considered decorating it with dangling mistletoe, so you're were all quite welcome for his use of discretion.

He did, however, still bring the sake, so you were welcome for that as well.

So. Irene loved a theme, certainly, but this was all a bit -- much. And certainly not to her taste, so she had declined to wear an actual Christmas sweater. (The synthetic fibers! How dare the narrative suggest such textiles even approach her skin?)

No no, Irene was instead here in a $2500 Bottega Veneta sweater, and a Santa hat over her hair, which she'd worn long and loose and spilling over her shoulders.

And as it was, the hat might have to go. It was cute and all, but Irene was hardly willing to risk hives or whatever.

Rey had missed all the planning this year and she'd spent part of the week at home, so was here in jeans and the first sweater she found while rush shopping, and had no idea what she was walking into here.

Which meant she was really, really glad this wasn't happening at her place this year.

Liz was rather nervous about the party on the whole but she actually had a date this evening and she did need to meet more people so she was trying to focus on those parts rather than that she was at what was likely to be a pretty huge party.

She loved cozy sweaters and her ugly Christmas sweater was one of her favourites.

Goose did not have that far to go to the party and he was more curious about what the evening was going to entail since he didn’t really get to many parties whee he was a guest these days.

It was weirdly early for a Christmas party but Buck wasn't about to complain. Especially when it was this elaborate.

For right now he was hanging out by the food and trying to get a good picture of the Mistle Drone to send to Eddie.

Summer's Shot Table | 12/3

As is now tradition, there was a table set up specifically for Summer's jello masterpieces.

And just like last year, said table was literally spotlighted by a little key light Annie had stuck to the ceiling. Of course it was.

And since this was Summer's first big Jello Shot Event since returning (well, as long as you didn't count the Wednesdays are Back, Baby! Event at the bar last week), you'd better believe she was giving that spotlight plenty to shine on. From the garlands and tiny tinsel trees covering the table along with an oh-so-classic tartan tablecloth, there were trays upon trays of jello shots displayed, most of them on a variety of thematic tiered stands, too.

And on those stands? Jello, of course! A wide variety of different little alcoholic jiggly morsels for all to enjoy, from tiny little fruit flavored presents with fruit leather ribbons to two different kinds of Christmas trees and jello snowmen on sticks!

She'd promised to bring back a slightly different version of the fireball apple shots from Wednesday, and of course, there was eggnog, as well!

Santa Hats were a classic, and she'd somehow managed to still find more variety to the Candy Cane. She gave the Mistletoe shots bit of a fancier treatment, and there was a daring dip into some pudding shots with some cocoa themed ones, too.

Orange Gingerbread. Classic Cranberry. Fruitcake you'll actually want to eat/drink!

And, of course, there had to be something with all that leftover Coke.

The jello had landed, my friends. Come admire, consume, and inflate Summer's ego even more!

A table has been set up in the guest room with art supplies for Christmas crafts, which means that if you wanted to get a look at Five's time-travel board of yarn craziness, now's your time.

Is it possible things were set up this way because someone was hoping that maybe Five's red yarn would accumulate pipe cleaners or other yarn decoration or popsicle sticks or something? You know, maybe.

This was where Laszlo found himself for a bit of the evening, painstakingly using the materials to make a highly bedazzled, highly yonic-looking ornament that Georgia O'Keefe herself would have been proud of.

He was also trailing glitter everywhere, and it made him miss both Nandor (who'd love it) and Nadja (who would make him go bathe immediately.)

Look, Annie was Annie and Summer was Summer and this was Christmas, but there would also always be wallflowers.

So there was one deliberately kind of low-key area away from the majority of the action.

(But not away from the Mistle Drone. It was inescapable.)

You know who was in a dark corner? One of the renters of the apartment. Partially because that was always where Diego hung out at parties, and partially because of the sweater Annie picked out for him.

He was also keeping an ear out for screaming just in case someone found one of his knives the hard way.

The two balconies were both decorated as well as the inside, with twinkly lights and their own glowing snowmen.

The main balcony somehow had an inflatable reindeer on it, which was a little weird since Annie was pretty sure they'd killed them all last year. And had also miscounted them last year in the first place, too.

It actually wasn't horrifically cold out tonight, especially when Silver was wearing a sweater and had a glass of rum in his hand. The fact that it was snowing indoors but nowhere near cold enough to do it outdoors was a bit of a mindfuck, but he was getting over it.

He was eyeing those reindeer warily though.

Santa Hats

This party came stocked and prepared not only with ugly sweaters for those without their own, but also plenty of Santa Hats for the party goers! There's just one catch: inside each Santa Hat, there's a directive that must be followed if you're planning on wearing it! Some directives could be a simple as doing a shot or doing a keg stand, some of them may be a dare (like those found here!) but most of the hats have a "Drink Every Time" directive (like those found here!) for maximum drinking opportunities!

Wear the hat, get ready to drink!
