MHA #2 | Late Tuesday Evening

American Hero had wrapped fairly early tonight -- Annie had told yet another hero who did not actually have a cape to hang it up and go, anyway, met with her producers for a moment after the show, and been left with enough time to actually make it back to the tower before her portal.

And good thing, too, since there had been a package left for her. Annie was very used to receiving Starlight swag -- honestly, at this point, she was pretty sick of it -- but this was...unexpected. There might have been an actual, audible, "Eep," of shock when she'd opened the box. (Though, really -- she'd just recently learned that Vought made porn in her image. Should it really surprise her so much that they also made other things?)

Anyway. She'd shoved one of the Starlight-themed items into a closet to...probably never be used, but the other had somehow made it into her bag to take home to Fandom with her. (Maybe it just fell in there, okay. Annie wasn't admitting to anything.)

"I had to kick off the guy with the electric shock powers," Annie was saying as she let herself into the MHA building and headed for her own apartment. She'd been on the phone since she'd gotten out of her portal in Fandom. "Both kind of a shame and kind of a relief."

She figured the guy she was on the phone with -- who she was also smiling at, as soon as she got the door open -- could understand that position after last year.

Of course she and Diego were people who talked on the phone right up until the moment they actually saw each other. What did you expect?

"Yeah -- hang on, there's a website," Annie noted, pressing a kiss to his shoulder as she leaned over to fish around in her bag for her phone. (An unforeseen perk of bringing it in here with her to transport the vibrator!) "I was kind of hurrying out the door so I didn't look up any of the others, but I'm curious now."

As they would soon find out, Annie's vibrator was probably the tamest thing in the lineup.

"I can't believe they made a whole line," Diego said. "Like how much money could they possibly make off these things?"

There were a lot of weirdos out there who specifically enjoyed themed sex toys, Diego.

"I mean, think of the theming with the porn," Annie said, calling up the site pretty quick and agreeing that she was, indeed, at least eighteen years old as she leaned into Diego's side so they could both see the screen.

"...oh, wow. Wow. Oh, there's the butt plug!"

There was a whole lot more here, yes, but the Starlight butt plug was featured right there on the homepage, next to a...vibrator shaped like a dolphin.

"StarMight is actually a way better name than Star-Brator," Diego decided. "...who would want a vibrator shaped like a sea creature?"

That seemed to be crossing some sort of a moral line but he couldn't quite figure out why.

Give it a month or so and Annie might have even more morally questionable-slash-repugnant material regarding sea creatures to share on this very phone.

"People with shitty taste in superheroes," Annie replied with a little scoff. His shit didn't even belong here, considering he wasn't even on the team anymore. "Okay, some of these are -- like, really intense."

A-Train and Noir and Maeve's dildos all looked like a lot.

"The Maeve one is super intimidating," Diego admitted. "Oh and it's harness-compatible, even more intimidating."

"So you can -- ohhhh." It took Annie a second to realize why and how one might use a harness in conjunction with something like that, and now she was tilting her head at it anew. "Okay, yeah, it's even more intimidating. I don't think her other stuff is really my thing, either."

Restraining Diego and pulling on his hair was one thing. Hitting him with something that looked like that was...a whole different thing that she was not sure she was that into.

"You definitely got the best stuff," Diego said. "Or at least the stuff that isn't completely terrifying."

"Yeah, mine are both all like...friendly." Annie perused the lineup a moment longer, then backtracked to the Deep's other offering.

"Okay," she said, a tiny bit shy. The tiniest bit. "Like, I don't want this, fuck him and there's a fucking dolphin on it, obviously, but -- this...style is cool."

She went so far as to trace the outline of the toy with her fingertip to further illustrate her point, with the external and internal options available. These had intrigued her back in February, too, when she'd seen them in person.

"Yeah?" Diego said with a slow smile. "I would definitely be interested in getting something like that. Without the animal motif, of course."

Thankfully it had gone out of style to actually make them look like little rabbits.

"The animal part is weird, so no thank you," Annie agreed, curling a bit into Diego's side. "But that just looks...fun."

She could probably come up with other adjectives if pressed, but fun was what was popping into her head right now, looking at that and remembering the last half hour or so.

"It does," Diego agreed, pressing a kiss against her temple. "We'll have some fun shopping later."

It'd end with them having sex again, let's be real.
