MCA #1 | Saturday Morning into Afternoon

On Saturday morning, bright and early - like, so, so hatefully early - Annie ventured out to make good on a stupid promise she’d made. All right, it wasn’t a stupid promise, but it was one Annie was really regretting now, because she knew how bad it had looked when she’d left. So much glitter. So many spilled shots. She herself had straight-up poured beer on the floor at least once and had to actually replace a lightbulb. Who knew what had become of the various reindeer?

Plus, she knew there were almost certainly people in there who would need carbohydrates and coffee to get through this day, just like she would. So, Annie made her way into Rey’s apartment, laid out the assortment of bagels and donuts she’d picked up and set a pot of coffee on (caf was a mystery she would ask Rey about later, but she’d noticed the coffee in the pantry before she’d broken it.) Then, she made a few trips back up to her own apartment to grab her vacuum, that glitter thing Barry had made her (bless you, Barry), a case of water bottles, and a bunch of cleaning supplies.

By the time she was done, the coffee was too, and Annie still kind of wanted to die, but at least the people waking up here would have caffeine and water and carbs at their disposal.

[for those waking up here or kindly helping to clean! please hold for just a touch of OCD and we are good, ping at will!]

“Who will hear us?” Barry whispered back. “And why are you yelling at me?”

Oh. It hurt just to say that.

“Fuck.”

"Annie," Summer whispered back. "She'll make us clean.

"Also, I'm not yelling, I'm being, like, totally super quiet right now."

She was trying to be, anyway! But it was all kind of relative, wasn't it? Especially since it was not a particular large couch, so the distance between them was not very far anywhere, much less her mouth to his ear.

Barry let a small groan of pain and annoyance. “I fucking hate gremlins,” he whispered. “My plan was to make fun of the drunk people. Not be a fucking idiot and then join a drinking game.”

So. Much. Punch.

Summer might have normally made a sarcastic comment here, but her sympathy for Barry right now (or was it pity? Possibly some guilt in there, too) so she tried for reassuring instead, complete with a kiss on his shoulder.

"Maybe," she suggested, "everyone else got so drunk too that they won't even remember."

There was a lot of drinking! It was possible!

Just like it was possible all that clip-clopping on the streets outside wouldn't drive them all straight up a wall as the morning dragged on!

“Well I’m pretty sure someone filmed me,” Barry admitted. “And now I have to go out and get more presents for Christmas Day. Shit.”

He did turn around and look at Summer at this point.

“Though I seem to remember you liking yours.”

"I'm pretty sure," Summer whispered, "you actually don't need to worry about more presents for actual Christmas, Barry."

But the fact that he even thought that was super adorable, and she found herself grinning back at him, despite every inch of her feeling like warmed over death at that moment.

"And I loved mine," she beamed. "Look!" She managed to squirm an arm out to show her, giving it a small shake. "I'm already wearing it!"

Which was a bold move, Summer, considering how many things, especially things people had been wearing, had wound up getting lost last night.

She was admittedly a little less sure about where the jello had wound up, but over by the jello table was a very logical answer, so she was not even a little concerned.
