Kleinfeld, Annie's Manhattan | Thursday Afternoon
Annie was trying to be more excited than nervous today, but no matter what, the two were kind of co-mingling anyway. She might -- hopefully? -- get her wedding dress today! And she'd be filming an episode of television in the process, but whatever, that was just work, right?
And she was bringing Diego's sister. And her Fandom friends. And Maeve.
It would be fine.
And if she kept saying it would be fine, then it would be!
In any case, they were here -- along with a film crew, a gal who was not being shy at all about touching up makeup, Annie's boss Ashley (and her ubiquitous clipboard), and a bridal consultant who seemed torn between being thrilled at her big break and also like she might throw up.

[for a few. naturally this is NFB for distance!]

Re: Arrive/Mingle | 7/28
Look, that was genuinely an impressive level of recollection from Maeve. Also, maybe a little much on the honesty.
Re: Arrive/Mingle | 7/28
"Summer," she offered. "Smith." Because, yeah, Summer, adding your generic-ass last name was going to help. "But I was born in June, so you really weren't too far off."
Although she would probably kind of want to die if her name was June, ugh.
(No offense, you poor, unfortunate Junes).
Re: Arrive/Mingle | 7/28
Seriously, she wasn't even intentionally being rude at this point. That would come later. Ashley was here, after all.
"You seem like you're having fun with this," she offered, because it sincerely seemed to be true.
Re: Arrive/Mingle | 7/28
"Yeah, well," she said, far more modestly than she'd intended, "this whole thing...the shopping, the dresses, even the cameras, is kind of my jam. And it's all for Starlight, anyway, so, you know, I'd practically jump straight off a bridge for her if I needed to, so this is, like," she let out a scoff, "pffft, easy street."
Re: Arrive/Mingle | 7/28
"I'm glad she has you," she told Summer, offering a genuine smile. "Seriously. Especially if you don't mind the cameras." She winced, eyes going wide. "It's a tough sell for a lot of people, being...attached to this kind of thing."
Not that Maeve had any personal experience with that, or anything. She'd just passed a Pride month in the Vought limelight without the girlfriend who had started it all, but pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff.
Re: Arrive/Mingle | 7/28
Dr. Wong actually never said such a thing; Dr. Wong was actually very supportive in Summer finding creative outlets for those crippling desires, but it sounded good at the time, and she gave Maeve a faint grin.
"I'm just glad I can be a part of it all, really," she said. "She so doesn't even need me, but I know it helps that I can be there for her."
Re: Arrive/Mingle | 7/28
Though Annie would take a few different turns than she had, if Maeve had anything to say about it.
