Annie was trying to be more excited than nervous today, but no matter what, the two were kind of co-mingling anyway. She might -- hopefully? -- get her wedding dress today! And she'd be filming an episode of television in the process, but whatever, that was just work, right?

And she was bringing Diego's sister. And her Fandom friends. And Maeve.

It would be fine.

And if she kept saying it would be fine, then it would be!

In any case, they were here -- along with a film crew, a gal who was not being shy at all about touching up makeup, Annie's boss Ashley (and her ubiquitous clipboard), and a bridal consultant who seemed torn between being thrilled at her big break and also like she might throw up.

Hang out in a real fancy bridal salon. Take a glass of complimentary champagne. Take a few, if you need to! You might need it, given the cameras and makeup people and the Ashley of it all.

Allison was in her element for the first time a long time. Cameras, obnoxious ladies with clipboards, make up people, this she knew how to deal with.

She was still gunning it for the champagne, however. She was here to support Annie (Starlight, she had to remember to call her Starlight), and to make Diego look good. The last bit was a tall order, let's be real.

"Oh, hey! You must be Deigo's sister; Allison, right?" Pretty easy with the process of elimination there, and of course Summer was going to take the opportunity to finally get to meet her before they all got swept up in a flurry of dresses. "I'm Summer, one of Annie's friends."

Okay, Wanda had known she hadn't been getting great sleep lately, but she didn't think she looked that bad. Her opinion on the matter changed when she was basically attacked by make up people when she got in, one of them mumbling about "bags under her eyes".

Annie -- in full Starlight regalia, at least until she started trying on dresses -- was doing her best to cope with being even more the center of attention than usual.

The champagne was helping. But she was also going to be filmed and make, like, the biggest clothes decision of her life since she'd gone with a caped uniform, so it couldn't help that much.

She was also trying not to focus on worrying about how her friends were doing with this, but true to Annie form, she was going to feel a little bad about the cameras and the...spectacle.

Oh, Summer was definitely having a few of those glasses of champagne, if she could get away with it. Not because she needed them, but just because they were there.

She had so been looking forward to this, and was so, so ready to go, with her best camera-ready smile and her super cute (but not too distracting) outfit, and a contingency plan in place for rescuing Rey if needed.

"No, I can't leave, what the fuck are you talking about, Seth?" Ashley was demanding into her phone, irritatingly dismissing a helpful PA who brought her glass of champagne. "I don't care what the fucking fuck that fuckstick is saying -- tell him that until that ticker ticks again, no one gives a shit, and I'm at Starlight's wedding dress bullshit and I can't leave to babysit him."

Ashley was also very discreet. And maybe needed to take that PA up on the champagne.

Because there were cameras around, Queen Maeve was here with her bright, toothy grin to wish her Best Friend Starlight!!!! the Best of Luck and help her Favorite Ally on her Special Journey to Heteronormative Matrimony!!!

Privately, though, Maeve was really pissed at herself for having willpower and just holding a champagne flute rather than downing five on sight.

Should've brought her vape pen.

"Heyyy, Maeve." Was it weird to still feel mildly intimidated around Maeve as Summer did? Probably. Possibly. It was more than likely (she hoped) just a case of the fact that she just never really had many chances to just interact with her and get to know her better, something she sort felt Maeve was completely okay with just leaving as is. But, either way.... "How's it going?"

Rey was more than happy to come support Annie. She was less than happy about the TV show of it all. But she didn't want to be not-fun or cause a scene with anybody who was just doing their job, so she would just quietly suggest the crew stay away from her.

Sorry not sorry, she was just going to look busy with a glass of champagne she wasn't even drinking.

"Your dress," Annie offered when she had a moment to herself (though she was also wearing a fingertip-length veil that Ashley had dropped on her head before wandering off again), "doesn't have to be like one of these."

Just to say. Sparkles were optional, fabrics could be breathable, no one needed to be laced into anything (except maybe Annie.)

Allison had been through this rodeo twice already, so she basically knew what she was looking for in a wedding dress, but picking one out for Annie took some time. The two of them had two totally different vibes.

Eventually she came out holding a Vera Wang gown that was sparkly. She knew sparkly was going to be a big thing with this wedding.

"Vera is a classic for a reason."

"Oh, it's so sparkly," Annie sighed nigh-reverently, reaching for the dress (and being overtaken by the consultant who got there first and knew how to handle the garment beyond petting it like Starlight here clearly wanted to.) "I like the sleeves."

It might be cold in October! She hadn't even thought about needing sleeves -- she'd just been motivated by her necklines so far!

Looking at dresses made Wanda a little nostalgic for the wedding she never technically had. She had actually been looking at dresses she would wear before focusing on the task at hand and picking something out for Annie.

Admittedly, it was more Wanda's taste than Annie's. But it would still look pretty and she wanted a photo, damn it.

The dress Ashley shoved at Annie was -- well. It wasn't even very Starlight, really, but it was much classier than what Annie had been anticipating she might have to try on. "Your wedding should be big, right?"

That's how Ashley felt, anyway. About most things, really.

Annie had chosen a few dresses for herself to try on -- some were a little too full of skirt, some were a little too cleavagey, but the whole set had had one unifying motif: sparkles.

And then Annie tried on one that she kind of couldn't stop looking at, even behind the dressing room curtain, already. She poked her head out, worrying her lower lip before hesitantly requesting, "Can we cut for a second?"

If this was it -- and it kind of felt like it might be -- this was too personal for TV, suddenly. She could lie and say she bought the one Ashley had chosen.

A moment later, she stepped out in a fairly simple white dress, her hair pulled over one shoulder to show off the detailed back.

"What do you guys think?" Annie, transparently, was kind of in love. It needed to be tailored, and there were big dress clips sticking out at her sides to approximate the fit, but...it felt the rightest of anything, so far.
